Tribute To My Son

I Searched

I sifted the sands of a hundred lost beaches
Of shades near night to bright white

I sunk hours of silence into deep rumination
And prayed for what I thought was right

I plodded through piles of poems and prose;
I picked apart fortunes of verse

I tripped through kingdoms unknown in this world
Lived one life blessed and one cursed

I mustered more mountains than I can remember
rode rivers, seas waves and fresh snow

Traversed deserts and forests and cities and islands
In search of what I didn't know.

Then unexpected, when I looked away
you found me from the other side

And all of the answers to my fervent questions
were perfectly clear in your eyes.
